Program Purpose / Objectives

Preliminary Objectives for this activity:

1) Review the disease state and treatments of diabetes and the importance of disease control in the quality of life.
2) Recognize the emerging role of phytomedicinals and herbal preparations in the treatment of various disease states
3) Diagnose and appropriately treat genital herpes and review ways to prevent recurrent episodes
4) Review the causes of medication errors and procedures that can be implemented to prevent them in the future
5) Provide guidelines for medicinal waste management to be incorporated in the medical/professional enviornment(office)
6) Diagnose and appropriately treat migraine headache and review some emerging treatments
7) Incorporate broad-based preventive medicine principles from “A to Z” into an office practice
8) Identify and appropriately treat blood cholesterol abnormalities to prevent CHD events in patients at intermediate to high risk for CHD
9) Apply standard of care lifestyle and pharmacologic guidelines to treat individuals with blood pressure elevations
10) Provide dementia-prevention guidelines and early treatment to patients in an office practice
11) Deliver travel medicine advice to international travelers
12) Diagnose and appropriately treat male patients with decreased bone density
13) Comfortably diagnose and treat bipolar disease in a primary care setting

ACPE Accreditation Applied for

Many states accept AMA PRA Category 1 credits for pharmacy continuing education.

Conference Sessions generally take place during the days at sea (as cruise itinerary allows) to avoid conflicts with Ports of Call or evening entertainment.
