| Program Purpose / Objectives |
The purpose of this CME activity is to review current diagnosis and management of patients with acute and chronic pulmonary diseases with particular emphasis on sleep disorders.
Preliminary Objectives for activity
Following attendance at this educational activity, participants should be able to:
o Discuss the importance of proper chest pain diagnosis
o Appreciate the utility and shortcomings of the PSI and CURB-65
o Differentiate between imaging methods used in diagnosing DVT
o List the most common barriers to quitting smoking
o Review the epidemiology of asthma
o Outline the most common sleep state disorders
o Define insomnia disease state and describe approaches to
diagnose and assess insomnia based on standard criteria
o Evaluate Obstructive Sleep Apnea
o Review the latest treatment options for COPD
o Evaluate chronic cough
o Assess Dyspnea
o Discuss lung cancer diagnosis and treatment
Conference Sessions generally take place during the days at sea (as cruise itinerary allows) to avoid conflicts with Ports of Call or evening entertainment.
