Arnold Ramirez, MD,
Arnold M. Ramirez, M.D. is a family physician and sports medicine specialist in the Tampa Bay area. He currently serves as the Director of the Sports Medicine Fellowship Program and Center for Sports Medicine at Bayfront Medical Center. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto and received his medical degree in 1995 at the University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School. He completed his medical residency in Family Medicine in 1998 and fellowship in Sports Medicine in 1999 at Bayfront Medical Center. Ramirez has also completed a Faculty Development Fellowship at Michigan State University in 2003. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine. Dr. Ramirez also holds academic appointments at the University Of South Florida College Of Medicine as Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and at Florida State University College of Medicine as Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Rural Health. He has served as team physician for the NHL with the Tampa Bay Lightning and currently serves as team physician for the University of South Florida and Eckerd College. Dr. Ramirez has been recognized several times as one of the “Best Doctors in America” as chosen by his peers. Outside interests include hockey, golf, and music.
Cesar Arguelles, MD
Cesar Arguelles, M.D. is a family physician and faculty at Southern Illinois University, Decatur Family Medicine Residency Program. He currently serves as Assistant Director of Clinical Informatics and has an interest in sports medicine and clinical informational resources. Dr. Arguelles also holds an academic appointment at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine. He received his medical degree in 1995 at the University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School. He completed his residency in Family Medicine in 1998 at SIU, Decatur Family Medicine Residency Program. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He is a member of the AMA, The American Academy of Family Physicians, The Illinois Academy of Family Physicians, and The Illinois State Medical Society. He is in charge of didactics at the residency, and has given numerous sports medicine and musculoskeletal lectures to the residents including evaluation of the upper and lower extremities, back pain, running injuries, sports dermatology, sports nutrition, exercise physiology, and others. He was recently recognized by his local county’s business and community organization as one of the “20 under 40” for his accomplishments and contributions to the Macon County Area.
His outside interests include cycling, fitness, and acapella singing.
