Faculty

Robert L. Kalb, MD., Clinical Assistant of Professor of Surgery, The Medical College of Ohio at Toledo; Clinical Instructor, Residency Teaching program, Mercy Hospital and Medical College of Ohio, Toledo; Adjunct Professor, University of Toledo. Dr. Kalb’s special interest is teaching office orthopaedics for priamry care physicians.

Dr. Kalb has developed a lecture workshop program on evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal problems including joint injection and aspiration. This program has become the most in-demand and continually sold-out course offering at the American Academy of Family Physicians’ annual meeting.

Program Purpose / Objectives

The purpose of this CME activity is to assess and manage acute and chronic orthopedic conditions with special emphasis on sports-related injuries

Preliminary Objectives for Activity:
“At the conclusion of this CME activity, participants shall be able to manage the following clinical conditions arising during athletic participation:
• Acromial Clavicular Injuries
• Rotator Cuff Injuries
• The ACL Injured Knee and the Use of Osteotomy
• The Unstable Knee and Arthritis
• ACL Injury in the Skeletal Immature
• Ankle Pain and Instability
• Forefoot Pain
• Exertional Compartment Syndrome • Soccer Injuries

Conference Sessions generally take place during the days at sea (as cruise itinerary allows) to avoid conflicts with Ports of Call or evening entertainment.
