Roy S. Rogers III, M.D., Professor of Dermatology, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, Consultant in Dermatology, Mayo Clinic and Foundation, Dean Emeritus, Mayo School of Health Related Sciences

Dr. Rogers is a dermatologist with special expertise in oral medicine, immunodermatology, mucosal diseases and medical education. He practices at Mayo Clinic Rochester where he was recognized as a Distinguished Educator in 2004. He has received numerous teaching awards from national and international organizations. Dr. Rogers has been recognized as a one of the "Best Doctors in America" since its inception in 1992 and has been listed in "Who's Who in America" since 1997.

James A. Yiannias, M.D., Associate Professor of Dermatology, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, Consultant and Chair, Department of Dermatology, Mayo Clinic Arizona

Dr. Yiannias is a dermatologist with special expertise in contact allergy and patch testing. He practices at Mayo Clinic Arizona where he has been recognized as a Distinguished Educator in 2005. He has served as Program Director of the residency training program (1999-2005) and as Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education (2004-2008). Dr. Yiannias has served as an officer and regular contributor to the American Contact Dermatitis Association.

Dermatitis: Can You Manage It Without Patch Tests?
Learn how to easily teach patients how to empirically avoid the most common contact allergens.
Recognize what type of patients can’t get better without patch testing.

Common Allergens Part I: Fragrances, Hair Care Allergens
Be able to readily teach patients how to avoid fragrances
Recognize typical hair care allergens and counsel patients on their avoidance

Common Allergens Part II: Rubber, Glues, Metals and Preservatives
Learn how to teach patients to identify the above allergens in their environment.
Be able to teach patients that avoidance of the above allergens must occur in the environments of both their home and work. Bring your jewelry! We can check to see if it has nickel.

Topical Medication Allergy: Doctors Cause Rashes?
Recognize the typical sources of allergic contact dermatitis from medicaments.
Know how to teach your patients to empirically avoid common medicament allergens, and “prove” the allergy via home use tests

Oral Contact Allergy: A Cause of Intraoral SCC?
Be aware that the histology of lichen planus is believed to be indistinguishable from lichenoid contact stomatitis.
Explore the hypothesis that chronic antigenic stimulation may result in oncogenesis.
