Program Purpose / Objectives

Take the frustration out of periodontal therapy and replace traditional ineffective systems with protocols that create win-wins for both patients and clinicians.

Choosing the appropriate therapy for the periodontal patient can be frustrating due to contradictory claims from multiple resources including industry. And the lack of evidenced-based studies on new emerging technologies creates a level of confusion for all dental health care professionals.

Our candid translational discussion to assist in "Monday morning" decision making will fulfill the following objectives:
*Review successful parameters to determine tooth survival in short and long term prognosis.
*Investigate computer system approaches to risk assessment determination.
*Evaluate anti-infective tray delivery systems.
*Periodontal disease management in systemically compromised patients.
*Develop decision making protocols in choosing between various forms of power instrumentation and various micro thin tips .
*Determine the efficacy of utilizing various laser wavelengths in sulcular decontamination, degranulation, new attachment, and bone regeneration.
*Establish a periodontal maintenance program with interaction between the dentist, hygienist, and the periodontist. *Achieve case acceptance by establishing appropriate fees and utilizing effective insurance coding.
