Program Purpose / Objectives

The purpose of this activity is to give participants an update in the diagnostic and therapeutic developments in the field of gastroenterology and urology
Preliminary Objectives for Activity
• Review the rationale for beta-blockers in the treatment of BPH
• Describe the pathophysiology of hypogonadism.
• Review the current treatment options for erectile dysfunction
• Recognize the risk factors for upper tract urothelial tumors
• Explain how a diagnosis of Peyronie’s disease is made
• Update on Hepatitis A, B, and C
• Apply updated guidelines in the diagnosis and surveillance of colon cancer
• Utilize new treatment and diagnosis strategies in the managemetn of C. diff, H. pylori, and diverticulitis
• Utilize an algorithm for the diagnosis and cost effective treatment of heartburn and abdominal pain
• Utilize and interpret results of Esophageal Motility and Manometry
• Properly diagnose and treat Celiac Disease, a not-so-rare condition
• Discuss treatment successes and failures in the management of IBD
