Faculty
Dr. Barry Polansky is a writer, speaker, and educator. He has developed a reputation as the "Rudy Guiliani" of dentistry. Hard hitting and successful, he delivers expert insight with an alternative edge.

Second to none in his love for the profession, he is not afraid to take an audacious stand for what he believes whether it means avoiding membership in the ADA because of its political overtones or serving as an irreverent, though respectful, gadfly in the Pankey Institute.

He is the author of The Art of the Examination and numerous articles, which have appeared in such industry magazines as Dental Economics, Dentistry Today, Dental Practice and Finance and The Pankeygram, and the editor, founder and primary writer of the very popular newsletter, Private Practice

Ports of Call
Dubrovnik, Croatia - This ancient city is set on a peninsula and surrounded by a 1,000 year old protective wall. Said to be one of the prettiest spots in the world, visitng it's old-city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is like stepping back in time. Or into another world, Dubrovnik is the principal filming location for King's Landing from the blovkbuster book (and television series) "Game of Thrones."
Naxos, Sicily - Naxos is gateway to the island of Sicily's strategically significant northeastern region. The first inhabitants of Sicily were the Sciani and Siculi, who were believed to have come from the mainland. During the eighth century, the Greeks discovered that these two groups had divided the island. After settling here, the Greeks were rivaled by the Carthaginians and later by the Romans who conquered part of the island to make use of its fertile soil. Following the first Punic War, the Romans gained complete control over the island. But before the island officially became part of Italy, the Byzantines, Tunisians, Saracens, and Normans all ruled for a time, each leaving part of their cultural and architectural influences behind.
Sorrento, Italy - The Sorrento Peninsula forms the southern edge of the Bay of Naple. The history of this region extends as far back as the 11th century BC, earlier than Rome. During the Roman era, it became used by the wealthy for their country homes. Renowned for its serene way of life, this romantic port exudes a special magic, overflowing with charm and character. Sorrento today attracts visitors from the world over escaping here to enjoy the fabulous scenery, its wonderful climate and its endless shopping opportunities. From here, visitors often visit the sensational Amalfi Coast and the hauntingly well-preserved "ruins" at Pompeii.
Venice, Italy - Venice is possibly the most romantic place you'll ever visit. It seems almost redundant to describe the charms of Venice. The cafes of St. Mark's Square, Palazzo-lined canals plied by gondolas, the elegant Doge's Palace, the Bridge of Sighs and the Church of San Giorgio Maggiore: Venice is one impossibly beautiful sight after next. A great collection of Renaissance era art is housed at Gallerie dell'Accademia. Or, if you prefer modern art, Venice is home to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection. And, if you want to enjoy a truly special meal while here, visit one of the excellent restaurants of the Associazione dei Ristoranti della Buona Accoglienza.

Still not sure how you'll entertain yourself? Here's the New York Times' take on how to get the most out of your time in Venice (published June 12, 2014) 36 Hours in Venice Port tips from our blog

Cruise Line cancellation policies are strictly enforced. For that reason, we urge all of our travelers to carefully consider whether travel insurance is a good value for them.

Certainly, if you have reason to think that "something might come up" that might force you to cancel, travel insurance is worth the cost of the premium. Examples we've seen in the past include ill or frail family members and changes in employment causing relocation.

If travel insurance is the right choice for you, we recommend TravelSafe. To visit their site and explore your options click here or on the link above; this link allows you to price out the insurance plan you prefer. The cruise lines also offer travel insurance and we'd be happy to help you go that route if you'd prefer.
