Ports of Call
Athens (Piraeus), Greece - You'll climb the Acropolis, the site of ancient Athens, crowned by the immortal Parthenon. Its chiseled columns were raised by Pericles, Athens's great general. Rest your running shoes in the temple of Nike. A little shopping and souvlaki in the Plaka and you're practically an (ancient) Athenian!
Barcelona, Spain -

Barcelona is a one of the world's great cities. Stroll down her magnificent tree-lined boulevards: the magnificent Passeig de Gràcia or the more touristed Las Ramblas. On the Passeig shop a serious fashion district while marvelling at some of Mordenisme architecture's great exemplars, seemingly sculpted from the stuff of dreams. If time permits, Antoni Gaudi's masterpiece of a family home, Casa Batlló is well worth a visit. If Gaudi hasn't yet intrigued you, a visit to La Sagrada Familia Cathedral will do the trick; this fantastic soaring marvel will live with you long after you've returned home.

Just north of Las Ramblas, visit the Gothic Quarter (the Barri Gotic) , where you can take in an abundance of shopping opportunities for all tastes, and a bit of European history to boot - check out the tranquil Cathedral of Barcelona. And to see a bit of local life a visit to a food market is a quick, fun detour: try Santa Caterina near the Cathedral or Mercado de La Boqueria, right off of Las Ramblas. Wrap up your visit with a stop at a tapas bar to try a few of the great local "small plates."

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy - Ah, the Eternal City: Romance, culture, food, history, art and fashion. You'll have to plan your time carefully as the sights of Rome are captivating and seemingly endless: the Colosseum and Forum, the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain and, of course the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel. And, of course, there are world class museums for lovers of every art era and fine food is easily found (take a brief stroll away from the most heavy tourist areas to find the good stuff).
Istanbul, Turkey - Istanbul, the only city in the world built on two continents, stands on the shores of the Istanbul Bogazi (Bosphorus) where the waters of the Black Sea mingle with those of the Sea of Marmara and the Golden Horn. Here on this splendid site Istanbul guards the precious relics of the three empires of which she has been capital; a unique link between East and West, past and present.
Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey - Ephesus, one of the world's finest archeological sites, awaits. Here you will walk the Arcadian Way, view the facade of the Library of Celsus and visit the Amphitheatre.
Livorno (Florence/Pisa), Italy - In Florence view the timeless treasures: the lofty Duomo, Giotto's bell tower, Michelangelo's David, the Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio over the Arno. In Pisa, see the famous Tower, still standing, if crookedly, after 650 years.
Mykonos, Greece - For pure Mediterranean pizzazz, Mykonos can't be beat. Designer boutiques and beautifully bronzed Greek gods and goddesses lie on Mykonos' beaches. And Mykonos' famous five white churches look down on it all in oblivious serenity.
Toulon, France - One of the Mediterranean's best ports and largest harbors welcomes you to the home of the French Mediterranean Fleet. Located in the Var prefecture of the Provence, Toulon has a long history that is revealed in various districts of the city. The Old Town is along the harbor, with narrow streets and small squares, most boasting a nicely decorated fountain. The Upper Town is mostly 19th century grandeur. You can take a cable car to Mont Faron, bypassing the road that is a notorious stretch for bicycle racers. The waterfront neighborhood of Le Mourillon is a family-friendly beach area for Toulonais. There are wonderful museums of history, art from various periods and naval history to explore as well.
Venice, Italy -

Venice is possibly the most romantic place you'll ever visit. The cafes of St. Mark's Square, Palazzo-lined canals plied by gondolas, the elegant Doge's Palace, the Bridge of Sighs and the Church of San Giorgio Maggiore offer one impossibly beautiful sight after next. Just walking through its pedestrian only streets is a delight.

And, if you want to enjoy a truly special meal while here, visit one of the excellent restaurants of the Associazione dei Ristoranti della Buona Accoglienza.

And for the art lover, two great collections at nearly opposite ends of art history await: Renaissance era art is housed at Gallerie dell'Accademia and amazing modern art is at home on the canal at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection.

TravelSafe.comPlease visit TravelSafe.com for travel insurance information.

Cruise Line cancellation policies are strictly enforced. For that reason, we urge all of our travelers to carefully consider whether travel insurance is a good value for them.

Certainly, if you have reason to think that "something might come up" that might force you to cancel, travel insurance is worth the cost of the premium. Examples we've seen in the past include ill or frail family members and changes in employment causing relocation.

If travel insurance is the right choice for you, we recommend TravelSafe. To visit their site and explore your options click here or on the link above. The cruise lines also offer travel insurance and we'd be happy to help you go that route if you'd prefer.
