Target Audience
This course is designed to update psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, nurses and other interested mental healthcare professionals in the assessment and treatment of childhood psychiatric disorders, and adult manifestiations of disorders that typically during childhood and adolescence. The format of the course consists of lectures, questions & answers and case discussions presented in an informal setting that promotes learning and interaction between the faculty and participants.

Upon completion of this CME activity, participants will be able to:
* Define the DSM IV diagnostic criteria for most psychiatric disorders affecting children, adolescents and adults.
* Clinically assess and differentially diagnose in children, adolescents and adults certain Affective Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Disruptive Disorders including Attention Deficit Disorders, Learning Disorders, Pervasive Developmental Disorders, and Tourette Disorder
* Understand how adult psychiatric disorders are manifested in children and adolescents.
* Recognize subtle signs of under-diagnosed childhood and adult psychiatric disorders.
* Recognize adult manifestations of psychiatric disorders that present initially during childhood and adolescence.
* Identify a range of biological and psychotherapeutic treatment interventions (including cognitive-behavioral and family systems interventions).
Conference Sessions generally take place on days at sea (as itinerary allows), giving you plenty of time to enjoy your meals, evenings and ports of call with your companion, family and friends.
