Program Purpose / Objectives
The purpose of this CME activity is to provide a "current issues update" concerning clinical management of a wide range of issues in women's health care.

Objectives: ¬ďAt the conclusion of this CME activity, participants should be able to:
· Utilize newer therapies for managing osteoporosis
· Discuss recent options in hormonal contraception
· Form treatment plans for menstrual disorders with sonohysterograms
· Understand the role of newer vaginal treatments for menopausal symptoms
· Have a clear understanding of the pros and cons of different methods of endometrial ablation
· Assess new technologies in laparoscopic surgery
· Incorporate current transdermal modalities into management of hormone therapy
· Use a streamlined approaach to the infertility patient
· Identify recent changes in CDC guidelines for treating STD's
· Know how to avoid common medicolegal "traps" in OBGYN practice
· Identify basic steps to getting published in the lay press
· Assess the use of methotrexate versus surgery for ectopic pregnancy

Bruce D. Shephard, M.D Clinical Associate Professor, University of South Florida; Private Practice, Tampa, Florida.

Dr. Shephard is co-author of The Complete Guide to Women's Health and has written extensively on women's health care for the consumer media. He has served as a McCain Fellow in Washington with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Shephard was recently selected for inclusion in The Marquis Who's Who in Medicine and Health Care (2002-2003)

Dr. Donald Galen, M.D., FACOG Partner - Reproductive Science Center of San Francisco Bay Area, San Ramon, CA; Surgical Director of Reproductive Science Center of San Franscisco Bay Area; Surgical Preceptor and Instructor in Advanced Laparoscopic and Hysteroscopic Gynecologic Surgery.

Dr. Galen provides expert consulting services to various medical product manufacturers and has been the Primary Clinical Investigator for many FDA-approved research studies. He also has over 30-years and 50,000 hours experience in Operative Laparoscopy and Advance Pelviscopic Surgery.

Copenhagen, Denmark - Denmark's capital is sophisticated, saucy and friendly. Stroll the fairytale world of Tivoli Gardens to take in bright lights, castles that out-Disney Disney. See the city's 200- year-old Royal Palace, the lively Old Harbor - Hans Christian Andersen lived here. Salute the Little Mermaid, symbol of this light-hearted city.
Helsinki, Finland - Shaped by its bays and isles, it's one of Europe's most scenic capitals. Hear a Sibelius concert, tour across the Arctic Circle to Lapland, land of Santa Claus, reindeer and the Midnight Sun. Buy a birchbark basket.
St. Petersburg/Moscow - In Peter the Great's "Window on Europe", head for the fabulous Hermitage, with its renowned art collection from Raphael to Rembrandt, Titian to Tintoretto. Take in a concert--folkloric or grandly operatic. Make a flying trip to Moscow to view monuments from Soviet and pre-Soviet days: Red Square, the Kremlin, St. Basil's Cathedral, Lenin's Tomb.
