Program Purpose / Objectives
The purpose of this activity is to give participants an update in the diagnostic and therapeutic developments in the field of Gastroenterology.

Learning Objectives:
Following attendance at the educational activity, participants will be able to:
1. Describe clinical manifestations, diagnostic evaluation, and therapeutic options for GERD.
2. Apply new diagnostic tests/therapies for inflammatory bowel disease (two hours)
3. Explain the epidemiology, diagnostic evaluation, and new therapeutic options for Hepatitis C.(two hours)
4. Identify the “silent” celiac disease epidemic
5. Describe the emerging role of probiotics in GI disorders.
6. Review Barrett’s Esophagus
7. Describe Endoluminal treatment options for GERD
8. Identify clinical presentations/therapy for diverticulitis
9. Identify emerging role for acid suppression in GI bleeding
10. Review colon cancer screening options
11. New therapies for medically refractory clostridia difficile colitis
12. Principles of Diving medicine.
