Ports of Call
Ajaccio, Corsica, France - Corsica is an island of rocky outcroppings and sandy beaches, with secret trails that lead inland over fields and through lazy villages. In Ajaccio, visit Napoleon Bonaparte's house, birthplace of Corsica's famous son. Buy a wedge of tangy cheese at the market, and in the mountains, delight in the scent of sun-warmed thyme.
Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy - Traces of ancient settlements are found all over the island of Sardinia: neolithic ruins at Nora; Phoenician, Cathaginian and Roman relics near Cagliari; and Arab, Genoese and Iberian heritage evident in architecture dating back to the Middle Ages. Cagliari, the capital, climbs a hillside overlooking the aptly named Gulf of Angels. In the old Castello Quarter, the streets are narrow and shaded and the buildings are old, but the beaches of Sardinia are wide and expansive, basking in the Mediterranean sun.
Dubrovnik, Croatia - This ancient city is set on a peninsula and surrounded by a 1,000 year old protective wall. Said to be one of the prettiest spots in the world, visiting its old-city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is like stepping back in time. Dubrovnik is also a principal filming location for scene's set in "King's Landing" from the blovkbuster book (and television series) "Game of Thrones." There is also excellent snorkeling to be found here in the pristine waters of the Adratic sea.
Livorno (Florence/Pisa), Italy - In Florence view the timeless treasures: the lofty Duomo, Giotto's bell tower, Michelangelo's David, the Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio over the Arno. In Pisa, see the famous Tower, still standing, if crookedly, after 650 years.
Messina, Sicily - A beautiful sheltered harbor is your gateway to Taormina, a small town at heart despite its major tourist attraction: the sublime Teatro Greco, offering panoramic views of the coastline and snow-capped Mt. Etna.
Monte Carlo, Monaco - The Casino, of course--if only to venture into the enchanting Salon Rose, with its nymphs on the ceiling. A drive along the scenic Corniche which takes you to Nice, undisputed capital of the Riviera.
Venice, Italy -

Venice is possibly the most romantic place you'll ever visit. The cafes of St. Mark's Square, Palazzo-lined canals plied by gondolas, the elegant Doge's Palace, the Bridge of Sighs and the Church of San Giorgio Maggiore offer one impossibly beautiful sight after next. Just walking through its pedestrian only streets is a delight.

And, if you want to enjoy a truly special meal while here, visit one of the excellent restaurants of the Associazione dei Ristoranti della Buona Accoglienza.

And for the art lover, two great collections at nearly opposite ends of art history await: Renaissance era art is housed at Gallerie dell'Accademia and amazing modern art is at home on the canal at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection.

Cruise Line cancellation policies are strictly enforced. For that reason, we urge all of our travelers to carefully consider whether travel insurance is a good value for them.

Certainly, if you have reason to think that "something might come up" that might force you to cancel, travel insurance is worth the cost of the premium. Examples we've seen in the past include ill or frail family members and changes in employment causing relocation.

If travel insurance is the right choice for you, we recommend TravelSafe. To visit their site and explore your options click here or on the link above. The cruise lines also offer travel insurance and we'd be happy to help you go that route if you'd prefer.
