Program Purpose / Objectives
The purpose of this CME activity is to provide a current issues update concerning the clinical management of multiple concerns in womenÂ’s health care.

    Faculty
    David O. Parrish, M.D. Director of the Family Medicine Residency Program and Faculty, Bayfront Medical Center, St. Petersburg, FL.
    Director of the Family Medicine Residency Program and Faculty since November 2001. David Parrish, M.D. came to the residency program in 1987. Dr. Parrish received his B.S. in Education from Alabama's Auburn University in 1970 and a masters in Pathology in 1979. He graduated from the University of Alabama Medical School in Birmingham in 1981, then spent three years in the Family Medicine Residency Program at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Pensacola. He was a U.S. Navy Family Physician for two years at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and later served as Director of Residency Training at the Naval Hospital in Charleston. At Bayfront, he is Chief of the Medical Staff and has coordinated resident recruiting and has lead in the development of residents' procedural skills. Dr. Parrish holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Sports Medicine, is AHA ACLS Affiliated Faculty and National Advisory Faculty for ALSO.

    David A. Weiland Jr, MD, Medical Director for The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast.
    Board certified in Internal Medicine, Dr. Weiland trained family doctors at Bayfront Medical Center for eight years. He served also as emergency medicine and house officer for night and weekend coverage at James A. Haley VA, Tampa and Bay Pines VA. In addition, Dr. Weiland is widely published and has been a frequent presenter of a wide range of medical topics. “In the ‘90s, I worked in a home-based physician service and found that I liked dealing with patients on their own turf with the support of their families. I feel we are better able to deal with each patient as a whole person in the home setting. That is in alignment with the philosophy at The Hospice,” Dr. Weiland said.
