Program Purpose / Objectives
The purpose of this CME activity is to outline the components and office adaptations of Disease State Management in the management of major infectious and chronic diseases.
Preliminary Objectives for Activity: Following participation in this CME activity, participants should be able to:
·Contrast the uses of Disease State Management and Case Management
·Describe current approaches to Ebola, Noro, West Nile and other emerging viral infections
·Outline existing knowledge and management of HIV/AIDS
·Assess various presentations of major infectious diseases
·Utilize variations in patient populations and severity levels in practice
·Review current management of Hepatitis and Diabetes Mellitus
·Address problems associated with patient compliance and adherence
·Evaluate therapeutic outcomes in treatment decisions
·Identify precautions and prevention measures during travel
