Program Purpose / Objectives
Current Concepts in Endodontics: Fascial Space Infections of Odontogenic Origin

Course Description: Possessing the ability to diagnose and subsequently provide treatment to patients who present with a fascial space infection of odontogenic origin is of paramount importance to the practicing dentist. This very beneficial presentation will describe the location and anatomy of the clinically significant fascial spaces, and discuss the anatomical considerations inherent in the spread of odontogenic infections. In addition, the principles involved in examining and treating a patient with a dentoalveolar infection will be presented.

New Technologies for a Modern Dental Practice
The multitude of restorative options is confusing to practitioners and patients. Esthetics, minimal discomfort, longevity and reduced cost are the main objectives for patients, but the dentist must consider other factors as well. From direct restorative to CAD/CAM and all-ceramic systems, the new materials are more sophisticated but require good knowledge of the correct use and the materials’ limitations. The presentation provides an overview of contemporary restorative/prosthetic systems discussing strengths, weaknesses, indications and the correct mode of use.

Surgical Pathology – Decision Making and Biopsy Technique for the General Practitioner
Course Description: Dr. Kilgore will teach participants a simple and consistent approach and the decision tree necessary for the development of a differential diagnosis and plan for management of common and uncommon oral lesions. Biopsy techniques, as well as the science and application of several new diagnostic techniques, such as the brush biopsy, will be discussed.

Ports of Call
Hubbard Glacier - Marching to the beat of a different drum, Hubbard Glacier is advancing while the rest of Alaska's ice rivers are receding rapidly. In 1986, Hubbard galloped forward, closing off Russell Fjord to create an entirely new lake. The phenomenon quickly passed and was followed by a short retreat, but the glacier is once again on the move and Russell Fjord is headed for another spell as an inland body of water.
Juneau, Alaska - In Alaska's capital, taste salmon baked over an alderwood fire, pan for gold, flightsee the Juneau Ice Field, and walk right up to the Mendenhall Glacier.
Ketchikan, Alaska - Immerse yourself in Tlingit Indian culture as you view the world's largest collection of totem poles; kayak the colorful waterfront. Port tips from our blog
Seattle, Washington - The Emerald City of the Pacific Northwest. In Seattle, stroll the bustling waterfront, visit the Space Needle, sample a local microbrew, a glass of Washington wine and world-famous coffee.
Sitka, Alaska - Step back to the days of Russian Alaska as you watch lively performances of the New Archangel Dancers and view holy paintings of the Czarists' days.
Victoria, British Columbia - Stroll through the charming downtown of this very British city, with its double-decker buses, turreted castles, fine British woolens, tea and china. Or, just outside the city, visit the lush flora and fauna of Butchart Gardens.

Cruise Line cancellation policies are strictly enforced. For that reason, we urge all of our travelers to carefully consider whether travel insurance is a good value for them.

Certainly, if you have reason to think that "something might come up" that might force you to cancel, travel insurance is worth the cost of the premium. Examples we've seen in the past include ill or frail family members and changes in employment causing relocation.

If travel insurance is the right choice for you, we recommend TravelSafe. To visit their site and explore your options click here or on the link above; this link allows you to price out the insurance plan you prefer. The cruise lines also offer travel insurance and we'd be happy to help you go that route if you'd prefer.
