Objectives for Activity:
Following attendance at this CME activity, participants should be able to:

* Discuss current guidelines for management of STDs
* Develop a contemporary approach to polycystic ovarian syndrome
* Use an algorithm approach for managing abnormal Pap smears
* Utilize a current approach in evaluating the infertile couple
* Evaluate newer methods of hormonal contraception
* Review the current approach to A.R.T.
* Identify the risks of medication use during pregnancy
* Discuss how social changes have increased demand for infertility
services
* Compare newer hormonal alternatives in menopausal therapy
* Utilize new strategies for practicing medicine profitably
* Discuss the use of medical writing as a way of reaching patients
* Review the use of a resource based relative value system in pricing
medical services

Bruce D. Shephard, M.D Clinical Associate Professor, University of South Florida; Private Practice, Tampa, Florida.

Dr. Shephard is co-author of The Complete Guide to Women's Health and has written extensively on women's health care for the consumer media. He has served as a McCain Fellow in Washington with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Shephard was recently selected for inclusion in The Marquis Who's Who in Medicine and Health Care (2005-2006)

Barry Verkauf, M.D., MBA, CPE, Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of South Florida, College of Medicine, Tampa, Florida

Dr. Verkauf is a Reproductive Endocrinologist in private practice in Tampa, Florida. He initiated the first in vitro fertilization program on the West Coast of Florida and is Board Certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He is a Certified Physician Executive by the American College of Physician Executives. He serves as a reviewer for several journals and has authored text books in clinical medicine and the business of medicine.
