The purpose of this CME activity is to present current diagnosis and treatment guidelines for adults with acute and chronic GI disease; designed for practitioners specializing in their management.

Learning objectives:

3. Explain the epidemiology,diagnostic evaluation and therapeutic options for hepatitis C

5. Identify the “silent” celiac disease epidemic
6. Describe the emerging role of probiotics in GI disorders
7. Explain the changing paradigm and new therapeutic options for the irritable bowel syndrome
8. Review new technologic developments/emerging clinical role of capsule endoscopy
9. Identify and manage the new aggressive form of C. Diff colitis
10. Discuss the challenging spectrum of geriatric GI problems
11. Review the GI manifestations of AIDS
12. Discuss a spectrum of interesting GI cases from the George Washington University Medical Center(2 hrs)
