What are past participants saying?
"The Note Boat 2001 attracted some of the most experienced investors and brokers I have ever seen in one place. It was a week of classes, round tables, networking and having the time of our lives. Everyone could get to know everyone else. When we weren't in port we were learning, meeting friends old and new, making deals and plans." --Anonymous

"Pete Fortunato, Mike Meeker and John Groom gave selflessly of their immense knowledge and experience throughout the entire week, and when we got off the boat all of us were light-years ahead of where we had been seven days before." -- Matthew Borland, Sarasota, Florida

"From the beginning, the Note Boat was an incredible, rewarding experience for us. The openness and collegiality of the group was overwhelming. It was educational, entertaining, validating and energizing!" -- Dan Diebel, American Land Contract Co. St. Paul, Minnesota

"I appreciated the balance of free time and classes -- the cruise environment is ideal for our niche business. Excellent job!" -- Tobias Preston, McKinley Mortgage Co., Girdwood, Alaska

Conference Sessions generally take place on days at sea (as itinerary allows), giving you plenty of time to enjoy your meals, evenings and ports of call with your companion, family and friends.

Faculty
Pete Fortunato: "There are so many things you can do with paper other than just buying and selling it."

Pete Fortunato is the most brilliant man alive. OK, maybe Stephen Hawking comes close, but what does he know about making money? Pete even taught Mike Meeker and Jimmy Napier what a discounted mortgage is. He not only has a heart of gold, he changes people's lives by changing the way they think about money.
Michael Meeker: "The key for all of us is to rebuild and to create a system that is much less dependent on any form of corporate America."

If anyone can be called the founder of the note brokerage industry, it is Mike Meeker. He was the first to teach people how to broker notes, and the majority of the most successful people in the business got their start from him. Like all of our teachers, he spends most
of his time doing what he talks about. He rarely teaches, so hearing Mike is a rare and valuable opportunity.
John Groom: "An audit can be even more dangerous for somebody in paper."

To say John Groom is a good CPA is like saying Tiger Woods is a good golfer. I know you'll say the same thing I did when I first heard him I thought I knew about organizing my business and tax strategies, but whoa! This is a whole new dimension! John will take what we'll learn from Mike and Pete and help us develop strategies for 2003 and beyond.
W. J. Mencarow is a note investor, the editor of THE PAPER SOURCE JOURNAL and president of  The Paper Source, Inc., which he co-founded with his business partner and wife, Alison, in 1987. In addition to numerous articles in his newsletter and others, he is the author of How To Get Started In Notes Without Using Your Own Funds and Almost Everything That Could Go Wrong With A Note (and How to Prevent It!), and several seminars including "Note Brokerage 101," "Profiting From Private Investors," "Hot Potatoes!" "Making More Money With Discounted Notes" and "Practical Paper Fundamentals" (with John and Lisa Moren).

Ports of Call
George Town, Grand Cayman - The premier attraction here is Seven Mile Beach...white as snow, soft as talc. Name your game and you'll find it here: Snorkeling, swimming, sailing, windsurfing over rippling waves, or gliding under them in a passenger submarine. Or perhaps shopping is your game. Duty-free bargains abound: crystal, perfume, jewelry fashioned of silver and prized pink coral.
Montego Bay, Jamaica - Jamaica is for lovers and lovers of nature. Here you may drift lazily down the Martha Brae on a gondola made of bamboo. Stroll gardens studded with koi ponds. Sip a Planter's Punch on the porch of a working plantation's great house. Whatever you do, don't miss Dunn's River Falls, where the cool water from the rain forest cascades over natural stone steps to the sea.
Tampa, Florida - A myriad of attractions awaits you during your stay in the Tampa area: the active nightlife of Tampa's Ybor City, it's Aquarium, and Busch Gardens for those with kids (even Walt Disney World is within striking distance). Magnificent beaches are a short ride away (Ft. DeSoto being a rare jewel of a beach without hotels and "McMansions" crowding out nature), then there's the Dali museum in St. Petersburg's hip, food-and-art-centric Downtown. To the south, in quieter Sarasota, you can visit the palatial mansion and art museum of the king of the circus: John Ringling. It's a great vacation destination, in itself. Be sure to plan a couple days before or after your cruise to soak it in.

TravelSafe.comPlease visit TravelSafe.com for travel insurance information.

Cruise Line cancellation policies are strictly enforced. For that reason, we urge all of our travelers to carefully consider whether travel insurance is a good value for them.

Certainly, if you have reason to think that "something might come up" that might force you to cancel, travel insurance is worth the cost of the premium. Examples we've seen in the past include ill or frail family members and changes in employment causing relocation.

If travel insurance is the right choice for you, we recommend TravelSafe. To visit their site and explore your options click here or on the link above; this link allows you to price out the insurance plan you prefer. The cruise lines also offer travel insurance and we'd be happy to help you go that route if you'd prefer.
