Johanne Proulx, M.A., Psychologist

Ms. Proulx has been working as a psychologist since 1987 with an adult population presenting with various disorders in conjunction with addiction issues. Her work touches both the public services through a local community center (CLSC) and a private clientele in her practice. In her years with Kahanawake Social Services, Ms. Proulx was exposed to the necessity of adjusting formal training to cultural differences and had to take into account the consequences of multigenerational trauma. She can count on her skills using a CBT approach as well as a more holistic approach including the people's story and the story of the elders in their community.

For more than twenty years, Ms. Proulx was also involved in research and program evaluation at a Youth and Family Centers where children are under care for abuse or neglect. The various programs offered needed to meet the children's emotional and developmental needs as well as offer the best guidance to help parent acquire adequate parenting skills.

As part of her future goals, Ms. Proulx will be part of a pilot project looking at the Dialectical Behavior Therapy developed by Marsha Lineham (1993) to work with Borderline Personality Disorders. Cruise Line cancellation policies are strictly enforced. For that reason, we urge all of our travelers to carefully consider whether travel insurance is a good value for them.

Certainly, if you have reason to think that "something might come up" that might force you to cancel, travel insurance is worth the cost of the premium. Examples we've seen in the past include ill or frail family members and changes in employment causing relocation.

If travel insurance is the right choice for you, we recommend TravelSafe. To visit their site and explore your options click here or on the link above; this link allows you to price out the insurance plan you prefer. The cruise lines also offer travel insurance and we'd be happy to help you go that route if you'd prefer.
