Dr. Gil Lichtshein is a double board-certified general and child and adolescent psychiatrist based in Boca Raton, Florida. A Fellow of both the American Psychiatric Association (FAPA) and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (FAACAP), Dr. Lichtshein provides comprehensive psychiatric care across the lifespan. In his private clinical practice, he specializes in the diagnosis and management of mood disorders, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), autism spectrum disorders, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), while also conducting specialized forensic psychiatric evaluations.
An experienced practitioner of interventional psychiatry, Dr. Lichtshein incorporates advanced, evidence-based treatment modalities into clinical practice, including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and esketamine nasal spray therapy for patients with treatment-resistant depression and complex neuropsychiatric disorders.
Dr. Lichtshein is actively involved in training the next generation of physicians, holding clinical faculty appointments across three Florida medical institutions. At Florida Atlantic University’s Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, he serves as an Affiliate Clinical Assistant Professor of Clinical Biomedical Sciences, teaching the Foundations of Medicine curriculum to first- and second-year medical students with an emphasis on history-taking and diagnostic clinical skills. He also serves as a Courtesy Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Florida College of Medicine and a Voluntary Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
