Jennifer Mitzman, MD, is a Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She is an experienced and grant-funded medical educator, lecturing nationally on a variety of topics in adult and pediatric emergency medicine (PEM), secondary trauma, and obstetric emergencies. She is widely published on curricular and educational innovations in PEM for the general emergency medicine and general pediatric learner and serves as an associate editor for Rosen’s Textbook of Emergency Medicine.

Actively involved in graduate medical education, Dr. Mitzman dedicates a significant amount of time to mentorship and scholarly discourse on the role of women and individuals underrepresented in Emergency Medicine, with a focus on professional development and career advancement.

Dr. Mitzman received her Bachelor of Arts from Brandeis University, after which she spent several years teaching high school. She returned to school to earn her medical doctorate at the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. After completing her emergency medicine residency at University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Mitzman pursued a Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship at Wake Forest University Brenner Children's Hospital in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine in both emergency medicine and pediatric emergency medicine.
