Dr. J. Stuart Wolf, Jr. is the Executive Associate Chair and Associate Chair for Clinical Integration and Operations in the Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care at Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin, where he also serves as Chief of the Division of Surgical Specialties. He earned his medical degree from Northwestern University before completing his urology residency at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and an endourology and laparoscopy fellowship with Dr. Ralph Clayman. Prior to joining Dell Medical School, Dr. Wolf spent 20 years on the faculty at the University of Michigan, serving as Director of the Division of Endourology, Director of the Endourology/Laparoscopy Fellowship, Associate Department Chair for Surgical Services, and the inaugural David A. Bloom Professor of Urology.

A prominent national and international leader in surgical quality and academic urology, Dr. Wolf is a Past President and Trustee of the American Board of Urology. He served as the inaugural chair of the American Urological Association (AUA) Science & Quality Council, chaired the AUA Practice Guidelines Committee, and has served on the boards of directors for the Endourological Society, the Society of Academic Urologists, the Texas Urological Society, and the Michigan Urologic Society. In recognition of his broad contributions to the field, Dr. Wolf was elected to the American Association of Genitourinary Surgeons and received the Distinguished Service Award from the AUA.

An accomplished surgical educator, Dr. Wolf is a three-time recipient of the Silver Cystoscope Award for Urology Residency Teaching Excellence and was inducted into the League of Educational Excellence at the University of Michigan Medical School. He was also honored with the inaugural Program Director’s Award from the Endourological Society and delivered the Malcolm Coptcoat Lecture for the British Association of Urologic Surgeons. A prolific scholar, Dr. Wolf has authored more than 325 peer-reviewed articles and surgical videos along with over 175 invited publications, and has served on the editorial boards of 12 academic journals.
