Target Audience
This program has been designed for physicians and nurses with an interest in the management of pain and reduction of risk in their daily practice.
Program Purpose / Objectives

COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this program, the participant should be able to:
* Discuss recent advances in the diagnosis and management of common and uncommon headache syndromes.
* Describe clinical characteristics of musculoskeletal pain and utilize a variety of therapeutic interventions.
* Recognize neuropathic pain conditions and prescribe optimal pharmacological treatment.
* Review the role of botulinum toxin in the management of painful conditions.
* Define appropriate use of opioids in chronic pain.
* Apply the principles of physical therapy, occupational therapy, psychological intervention and bio-feedback as they relate to pain management.
* Discuss risk prevention techniques for the practice of medicine.
* Discuss the importance of disclosure and apology after a medical error occurs.
* Describe the importance of a variety of patient safety initiatives.
* Describe the various current health care report cards and the methodology.
* Review infection control techniques via case studies.
* Recognize the importance of clinical outcomes data in monitoring practice.

Within 60 days of sailing, a 100% cancellation penalty will be applied to Air, Land & Hotel bookings.
