Program Purpose / Objectives
Course Objective: To review the diagnosis and management of dermatological conditions commonly encountered by the Primary Care Physician.
To improve the non-dermatologists ability to diagnose, treat and manage the patient with skin related conditions.
The focus will be upon improving clinical outcomes for the practitioner through proven practical lessons from a dermatologist in private practice.

At the end of the course, the attendee should be able to:
• Discuss normal anatomy of human skin
• Be familiar with the dermatological terms used to describe skin related illnesses
• List the most common skin diagnoses seen in the ambulatory setting
• Explain the different skin biopsy techniques and their indications
• Develop a therapeutic rationale for treating common skin disorders
• Recognize the most frequent skin cancers
• Develop an approach to the dermatological patient
• Create a differential diagnosis for common skin disorders
