Ports of Call
Venice, Italy (Embark) - Venice is possibly the most romantic place you'll ever visit. It seems almost redundant to describe the charms of Venice. The cafes of St. Mark's Square, Palazzo-lined canals plied by gondolas, the elegant Doge's Palace, the Bridge of Sighs and the Church of San Giorgio Maggiore: Venice is one impossibly beautiful sight after next. A great collection of Renaissance era art is housed at Gallerie dell'Accademia. Or, if you prefer modern art, Venice is home to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection. And, if you want to enjoy a truly special meal while here, visit one of the excellent restaurants of the Associazione dei Ristoranti della Buona Accoglienza.

Still not sure how you'll entertain yourself? Here's the New York Times' take on how to get the most out of your time in Venice (published June 12, 2014) 36 Hours in Venice

Amalfi, Italy - The Amalfi coast has been called the greatest meeting of land and sea on earth. Situated in the Campania region between Sorrento and Salerno, Amalfi is one of the main towns, the other being Positano, on the world famous Amalfi Drive - known as the most romantic drive in Italy. The road is gouged from the side of rocky cliffs plunging into the sea. Erosion has contorted the rocks into mythological shapes and hollowed out fairy grottoes where the air is turquoise and the water an icy blue. During the Middle Ages, Amalfi was an independent maritime state with a population of 50,000. The ship compass was invented here in 1302. Approximately 10 miles away from Amalfi is the village of Ravello. An enchanting village with wonderful views and quiet lanes, Ravello boasts romantic gardens that showcase medieval ruins, and afford magnificent views of the entire Bay of Salerno.
Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy - Plan your time here carefully, as the Eternal City's sights are endless: the Colosseum, the Forum, the Sistine Chapel, the Vatican and so much more.
Dubrovnik, Croatia - This ancient city is set on a peninsula and surrounded by a 1,000 year old protective wall. Said to be one of the prettiest spots in the world, visitng it's old-city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is like stepping back in time. Or into another world, Dubrovnik is the principal filming location for King's Landing from the blovkbuster book (and television series) "Game of Thrones."
Palamos, Spain - Located at the foot of the mountains on Spain's rugged Costa Brava, Palamos boasts seven superb beaches, Iberian archeological remains from the year 6 BC, and the Church of Sant Esteve on the beach. Highlighting the town center is its 16th-century cathedral.
Sète (for Carcassonne) - Along the southwestern coast of France near the dramatic range of Pyrenees Mountains is France's region of Languedoc and the port of Sète. This fishing village is gateway to Montpellier to the north. This historic city was the 12th century site of Europe's first medical school, established after years of growing and trading medicinal plants. The school became a university in 1289. Under the reign of Louis XIV, Montpellier was the capital of lower Languedoc, and the city rapidly expanded.
Saint Raphael, France - Between the red lava peaks of the Massif de l'Esterel and the densely forested hills of the Massif des Maures, St-Raphael was first popular during Roman times, when rich families came to the resort here. Not until 1799, when Napoleon landed at the small harbor beach on his return from Egypt, did the city once again draw attention. In the second half of the nineteenth century the township came under the influence of Mayor Felix Martin and writer Alphonse Karr, and owing to their efforts and the Mediterranean climate the city developed into a popular seaside resort with artists, sportsmen and politicians.
Santa Margherita (Portofino), Italy - Portofino, picturesquely situated in a narrow cove at the southeastern tip of a promontory might be the most beautiful place you'll ever see. A tiny port on Italy's northern coast, enchanting Portofino has long been popular with artists, actors and important people thanks to its beautiful setting. Abundantly blessed with agreeable climate and luxuriant vegetation, this "Pearl of the Mediterranean" should have a place on everyone's "bucket list." Fortunately for we in the know, it still remains unspoiled.
Triluke Bay, Croatia - Seabourn has discovered a secluded cove where, conditions permitting, your captain can anchor and deploy the ship's watersports Marina for a day of playing in the sparkling Adriatic Sea. Water-skiing, kayaking, pedal boats, sailboards and many more aquatic toys are available, plus swimming right from your ship! This is the life!
Barcelona, Spain (Debark) - Barcelona is a one of a kind, world-class city. While away the day exploring the beautiful, tree-shaded Las Ramblas. Or, marvel at its fantastic Art Nouveau architecture, with dozens of buildings that seem to have been sculpted from the stuff of dreams, like the Sagrada Familia Cathedral. For the more worldly, shop for exquisite Lladro ceramics, chic spanish fashions or enjoy a cuisine that many say has rival's the French for the title of world's best.

Cruise Line cancellation policies are strictly enforced. For that reason, we urge all of our travelers to carefully consider whether travel insurance is a good value for them.

Certainly, if you have reason to think that "something might come up" that might force you to cancel, travel insurance is worth the cost of the premium. Examples we've seen in the past include ill or frail family members and changes in employment causing relocation.

If travel insurance is the right choice for you, we recommend TravelSafe. To visit their site and explore your options click here or on the link above; this link allows you to price out the insurance plan you prefer. The cruise lines also offer travel insurance and we'd be happy to help you go that route if you'd prefer.
