Program Purpose / Objectives

Making teeth look pretty is the easy part. But teeth must also be phonetically precise, and functionally correct to stand the test of time. Having a command of where teeth go in space and into what relationship to place them is critical for ultimate success.

Objectives:

  • Learn the importance of properly assessing the various components of the stomatognathic system
  • Understand the importance of joint position and its effect on treatment prognosis
  • Learn 16 steps that will make or break your cases
  • Learn how to communicate functional tooth positions with your lab
  • Understand Envelope of function and anterior guidance
  • Make Anterior esthetics easy and predictable
  • Feel comfortable knowing where incisal edges go vertically and horizontally

Conference Sessions generally take place on days at sea (as itinerary allows), giving you plenty of time to enjoy your meals, evenings and ports of call with your companion, family and friends.

Ports of Call
Dubrovnik, Croatia (Overnight) - This ancient city is set on a peninsula and surrounded by a 1,000 year old protective wall. Said to be one of the prettiest spots in the world, visitng it's old-city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is like stepping back in time. Or into another world, Dubrovnik is the principal filming location for King's Landing from the blovkbuster book (and television series) "Game of Thrones." For overnight stays, Dubrovnik boasts romantic restaurants with lovely views, and an assortment of clubs, bars and other nightlife to keep you entertained.
Venice, Italy (Embark and Debark) - Venice is possibly the most romantic place you'll ever visit. It seems almost redundant to describe the charms of Venice. The cafes of St. Mark's Square, Palazzo-lined canals plied by gondolas, the elegant Doge's Palace, the Bridge of Sighs and the Church of San Giorgio Maggiore: Venice is one impossibly beautiful sight after next. A great collection of Renaissance era art is housed at Gallerie dell'Accademia. Or, if you prefer modern art, Venice is home to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection. And, if you want to enjoy a truly special meal while here, visit one of the excellent restaurants of the Associazione dei Ristoranti della Buona Accoglienza.

Still not sure how you'll entertain yourself? Here's the New York Times' take on how to get the most out of your time in Venice (published June 12, 2014) 36 Hours in Venice
Pre and Post-Cruise Hotel Packages in Venice Port tips from our blog
Athens (Piraeus), Greece - You'll climb the Acropolis, the site of ancient Athens, crowned by the immortal Parthenon. Its chiseled columns were raised by Pericles, Athens's great general. Rest your running shoes in the temple of Nike. A little shopping and souvlaki in the Plaka and you're practically an (ancient) Athenian!
Katakolon, Greece - Explore the site of the very first Olympic Games! Ancient Olympia is a short drive from Katakolon to see where the sacred flame is still lit every Olympic year. Wonder at the ruins of the awesome Temple of Zeus.
Mykonos, Greece - For pure Mediterranean pizzazz, Mykonos can't be beat. Designer boutiques and beautifully bronzed Greek gods and goddesses lie on Mykonos' beaches. And Mykonos' famous five white churches look down on it all in oblivious serenity.
Santorini, Greece - The view from the top of Santorini is breathtaking. The harbor below is said to be the site of the lost city of Atlantis! Visit the ruins of Akrotiri and discover a recently unearthed Minoan town which was extinguished by a volcanic cataclysm in 1500 B.C.

TravelSafe.comPlease visit TravelSafe.com for travel insurance information.

Cruise Line cancellation policies are strictly enforced. For that reason, we urge all of our travelers to carefully consider whether travel insurance is a good value for them.

Certainly, if you have reason to think that "something might come up" that might force you to cancel, travel insurance is worth the cost of the premium. Examples we've seen in the past include ill or frail family members and changes in employment causing relocation.

If travel insurance is the right choice for you, we recommend TravelSafe. To visit their site and explore your options click here or on the link above. The cruise lines also offer travel insurance and we'd be happy to help you go that route if you'd prefer.

Hotel Locanda Vivaldi

Riva degli Schiavoni 4150-52
Venice, Veneto, 30122

Right on the Venetian Lagoon, Hotel Locanda Vivaldi opened its doors in 1999, providing 27 guest rooms, many of which have sweeping views of the lagoon. Rich Venetian brocade fabrics in majestic reds, blues, and golds adorn the walls as well as sofas and beds, putting visitors in a luxe environment without the luxurious price tag. Murano glass accessories add embellishment and charm to the air-conditioned rooms and suites which overlook the Basin of St. Mark, the quaint Rio dei Greci canal, and the hotel's courtyard. Superior rooms and two junior suites offer amazing 180? views of the Piazza San Marco bell tower, Giudecca island, Santa Maria della Salute, and beyond.

Located close to all of Venice's major sights, most of which are visible from the property, Hotel Locanda Vivaldi is also right in the middle of unexplored Venice. In fact, just next door is the church where Antonio Vivaldi, famed composer of the Christmas favorite "Gloria", got his musical start. Beyond that, the Castello neighborhood features off-the-beaten-track shops, museums, and quaint piazzas rarely explored by tourists. Hotel Locanda Vivaldi fits right in with the neighborhood of hidden gems.
