Dr. Carol Cohen Weitzman is a developmental-behavioral pediatrician, Co-Director of the Autism Spectrum Center at Boston Children’s Hospital, and Director of the CT Center for Developmental Pediatrics. She holds an academic appointment as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and is a Professor Emeritus of Pediatrics at the Yale School of Medicine. During her tenure at Yale, Dr. Weitzman served as Director of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics and oversaw the subspecialty fellowship training program.
Nationally recognized for her leadership in pediatric developmental health, Dr. Weitzman is a past president of the Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics (SDBP) and a past chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Section on Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. She is an active member of the AAP Autism Committee and serves on the American Board of Pediatrics Sub-Board of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics. A leading contributor to national clinical practice guidelines, Dr. Weitzman authored the AAP clinical report Promoting Optimal Development: Screening for Behavioral and Emotional Problems and co-authored Health Care for Youth With Neurodevelopmental Disabilities: A Consensus Statement.
