Dr. Boris Garber is an attending physician in Emergency Medicine at MetroHealth Medical Center and an Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He earned his medical degrees from Krasnoyarsk State Medical University and the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine before completing his Emergency Medicine residency at Stony Brook University. Following three years of community emergency medicine practice in central Illinois, Dr. Garber joined the staff at MetroHealth in 2005.
A dedicated medical educator, Dr. Garber serves as Core Faculty for the EMS Fellowship at MetroHealth and acts as the Medical Director for the Cuyahoga Community College paramedic program. He also has extensive experience instructing advanced life support and procedural simulation.
Dr. Garber is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and is highly active in national medical advising, currently serving on ACEP's International Emergency Medicine, Emergency Medicine Practice, and EMS committees. Furthermore, he has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and contributed chapters to leading emergency medicine texts, including Rosen’s Emergency Medicine and Tintinalli's Emergency Medicine Manual.
