Consultant and Clinical Educator
Bangor, ME

Elisabeth Fowlie Mock, MD, MPH, FAAFP, attended Colby College, Emory University, the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, and the UNC Chapel Hill School of Public Health. She is dual board-certified in Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine. Dr. Mock works primarily as a consultant and clinical educator while also taking per diem hospitalist shifts, where she continues to teach residents and medical students. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Mock spent several years as a family medicine residency faculty member and has been delivering continuing medical education (CME) lectures and workshops since 2011. She is trained in an educational technique known as academic detailing and has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including a low-barrier opioid treatment clinic at a Federally Qualified Health Center and as an adult hospitalist at a community referral hospital. Her quality improvement (QI) work focusing on chronic pain, controlled substance prescribing, and addiction dates back to 2014.

Considering herself a community-based academic, Dr. Mock strives to develop interactive, practical, and actionable workshops for practicing physicians and healthcare providers. She has focused on being an engaging and enthusiastic presenter for two decades, and her work with opioid continuing education has reached several thousand providers in her home state. Outside of medicine, her passions include travel, women’s basketball, and public speaking with Toastmasters. She lives in Bangor, Maine, and enjoys spending time with her three doodle dogs.
