Dr. Esther M. Benedetti is an anesthesiologist and interventional pain management specialist with over two decades of clinical experience. She earned her medical degree from the Central University of Venezuela (Escuela de Medicina Jose María Vargas) and completed her anesthesiology residency at Hospital Domingo Luciani in Caracas. Dr. Benedetti subsequently pursued fellowship training in Pain Medicine at the Centro Medico Docente la Trinidad in Venezuela, followed by an additional fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at the University of Vermont's Fletcher Allen Health Care System.
After working as a chronic pain specialist in her home country, Dr. Benedetti joined the faculty of the Department of Anesthesia at the University of Iowa. She served as an attending physician in the Pain Clinic and achieved the rank of Associate Clinical Professor during her nearly decade-long tenure.
Following her time in Iowa, Dr. Benedetti relocated to Florida to join the Miami VA Healthcare System. She currently serves as the Section Chief of Chronic Pain Medicine at the Bruce W. Carter Miami VA Medical Center, as well as the VISN 8 Chief Pain Consultant. A highly experienced clinician, Dr. Benedetti is recognized as a Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP) by the World Institute of Pain.
